PROJECT OVERVIEW
Material: Zinc
Finish: VM Zinc Anthracite (Ral 7016)
System: Standing Seam Mono Pitched Roof
Location: Glasnevin, Dublin
This project in Glasnevin, Dublin involved the replacement of an existing roof with a standing seam zinc roofing system, providing a long-term, low-maintenance solution suited to Irish weather conditions. Zinc roofing is widely used across Dublin for its durability, clean architectural appearance and ability to perform in exposed environments.
Alu Zinc Metal Roof Solutions were appointed to resolve long-term roofing issues on this mono-pitched flat roof in Glasnevin, Dublin. For over 20 years, the roof had been repeatedly retiled in an attempt to solve persistent leaks, but due to the low pitch angle, traditional tiles were never suitable — wind-driven rain continuously penetrated beneath them.
Our team carried out a full roof replacement, installing a standing seam system in VM Zinc Anthracite (RAL finish). The zinc cladding provided the watertight integrity and modern detailing required, transforming the roof into a durable, low-maintenance solution built to last decades.
This project highlights the importance of material selection for roof pitch and exposure, and how premium zinc systems can solve performance failures where traditional methods fall short.
Standing seam zinc systems are suitable for roof pitches as low as 3°, making them ideal for extensions and low slope roofs.
